Job Summary:

The PPLI Specialist will be responsible for structuring, implementing, and managing Private Placement Life Insurance (PPLI) portfolios for clients of NewEdge Wealth This role requires deep technical knowledge of PPLI structures, strong communication skills, and the ability to bridge complex regulatory and investment concepts with client-friendly explanations. The ideal candidate will work closely with wealth strategy, investment teams, carriers, and advisors to deliver sophisticated insurance-based wealth strategy solutions.

 

Location: Stamford, CT candidates preferred, but New York, NY candidates will be considered as well. 

 

Responsibilities:

Structuring & Analysis

  • Manage IDF/SMA Administrators for onboarding of new Insurance Dedicated Funds (IDFs) and Separate Managed Accounts (SMAs), and processing of subscriptions and redemptions.
  • Design and structure client PPLI portfolios, including creation of LLC frameworks, selection of state jurisdictions, and carrier selection.
  • Conduct analytic comparisons of new and existing opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with teams to ensure optimal wealth strategies are executed.

Client & Advisor Communication

  • Participate in advisor and client reviews, effectively communicating complex PPLI concepts in clear, accessible terms.
  • Discuss the procurement process, investment constraints, reporting requirements, structuring timelines, and regulatory considerations with clients and advisors.
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert during discussions with carriers and counterparties.

Operational & Compliance Management

  • Act as liaison between the NewEdge investment team and IDF/SMA Administrators to align on SMA management requirements and ensure compliance with approvals and reporting standards.
  • Coordinate legal due diligence processes with the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and New Product Committee.
  • Monitor adherence to Investment Policy Statements and IRS diversification limits.

Policy Management

  • Oversee and actively manage clients’ PPLI policies, ensuring timely premium payments, optimal death benefit management, and proper handling of policy loans and withdrawals.
  • Provide proactive reporting to advisor teams, including premium reminders, policy illustration updates, capacity modeling, and monitoring potential death benefit reductions.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Maintain expertise in the PPLI market landscape, including product evolution, legislation, competitive offerings, and offshore strategies.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to enhance the firm’s PPLI capabilities and competitiveness.

Marketing

  • Coordinate with the marketing team to develop high-quality materials that articulate the firm’s PPLI value proposition.
  • Lead the preparation of client presentations and collaborate with advisor.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience in the PPLI product area.
  • Insurance Licensed and Series 7, 26, 66 or 63 preferred.
  • Prior experience with a carrier or PPLI brokerage support function.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Results-driven with the ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously and facilitate sales.
  • Deep understanding of insurance, investment, and regulatory frameworks related to PPLI.

 

Salary: $250,000 – $350,000, based on experience.
