As Chief Executive Officer of NewEdge Capital Group, James leads the firm's continued expansion and innovation. Under his leadership, NewEdge is forging the path toward becoming the most exclusive wealth management firm in the world, serving elite advisors and their clients through NewEdge Advisors and NewEdge Wealth.
James brings over 25 years of leadership experience in wealth management, private banking, and capital markets spanning both public and private markets. Most recently, James served as President, Investment Management and Family Office, as well as Group Chief Administrative Officer at ICONIQ Capital from 2017 to 2024, where he played a pivotal role in scaling one of the industry's most sophisticated wealth management businesses. ICONIQ serves ultra high net worth technology executives and entrepreneurs, combining traditional wealth management with comprehensive investment expertise.
Prior to ICONIQ, James spent 17 years with Morgan Stanley, culminating in his role as Global Head of International Wealth Management, where he oversaw the firm's wealth management expansion across Europe, Asia, and Latin America. During his tenure, he led strategic initiatives across private banking, capital markets, and investments, significantly expanding the firm's global footprint.
James is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization and serves on his alma mater’s Cabinet for Good and the Wall Street Leadership Committee. James and his wife Suzanne reside in Westport, CT, with their three children, and are passionate supporters of organizations focused on youth mental health and poverty alleviation, including Near and Far Aid and Charity: Water.
